Since 2012, we have teamed up with ACDN to host events across the country during Women’s History Month — to help women gain the confidence and skills they need for employment. ACDN is a network of grassroots organizations that serves women who seek to join or re-enter the workforce and they believe anyone who wants a job, should have the means to do so. Smart&Sexy Day is held annually on March 13th to help amplify that.
Smart & Sexy Day & Month events are about helping to prepare women to secure employment and enhance the quality of their lives. The 2024 event theme is MAXIMUM UPLIFT. Although the national unemployment rate is the lowest it’s been in years, the 2024 job market has brought with it massive layoffs and uncertainty for job seekers. More and more workers look to find the right job - one that fits their needs and lifestyle. With that comes the need for confidence to articulate what will best fit them, to redefine what their best life looks like. The Alliance of Career Development Nonprofits is excited to host these events and help women everywhere achieve their best selves.
The day’s activities will include workforce readiness, professional development, and financial literacy classes. Women who attend Smart & Sexy Day events receive Smart&Sexy foundation garments, accurate fittings, as well as interview skills training from leading local industry professionals and dedicated volunteers.
