At Smart&Sexy, we believe that sustainability extends beyond environmental stewardship - it encompasses empowering communities and fostering inclusivity. This Earth Day, we're proud to donate to Minorities in Shark Sciences (MISS), an organization dedicated to diversifying the field of marine science.

About MISS: Championing Diversity in Shark Science

Founded by four Black women who experienced underrepresentation in marine science, MISS aims to make shark science accessible to all. Their mission is to advance the field by challenging the status quo and providing equitable pathways to research, conservation, and education. MISS offers fully funded opportunities, including fellowships, workshops, and internships, to gender minorities of color, helping to remove financial barriers that often hinder participation in marine sciences.

Our Contribution: Supporting MISS Fellowships

Our donation will directly support MISS fellowships, assisting members with expenses such as relocation fees, rent, and groceries. These fellowships provide invaluable experiences, from conducting shark field surveys to developing STEM education content, all while ensuring participants are compensated for their contributions.
